How to Use Undo Send in Thexyz Webmail (and Set the Send Delay)

How to use Undo Send in Thexyz Webmail and set the send delay

Ever clicked Send and immediately spotted a typo, the wrong recipient or a missing attachment? Thexyz Webmail has a built-in Undo send feature that holds each message for a few seconds before it goes out, so you can pull it back. This guide shows where the setting lives (it’s not where most people look), how to choose a 5 or 10 second delay, and exactly what happens when you click Undo.

Quick answer

In Thexyz Webmail (mail.thexyz.com), open E-mail, right-click your email address at the top of the folder list and choose Properties. In the Undo send dropdown pick 5 seconds or 10 seconds, then click Ok. After you send a message, click Undo in the “Message queued” notice at the bottom-left of the screen to get it back.

What Undo Send does

With Undo send on, Thexyz Webmail doesn’t deliver your message the instant you click Send. It queues it for the number of seconds you choose and shows a small notice with an Undo link. If you click Undo before the countdown ends, the message is never sent and you’re taken straight back to the draft. If you do nothing, it goes out as normal when the time is up.

It’s a safety net for the first few seconds only. Once a message has actually been sent, it can’t be pulled back from the recipient’s inbox.

How to set the Undo Send delay

The setting is stored per email account, in the account’s Properties. You won’t find it under your avatar → My account, or under User Settings (which opens the Thexyz control panel).

  1. Sign in at mail.thexyz.com and click E-mail in the top bar.
  2. In the folder list on the left, find your email address. It sits at the top of your folders, just above Inbox.
  3. Right-click your email address and choose Properties.

  1. The E-mail Account window opens on its Properties tab. Look in the left column, just below the View and edit e-mail templates button, for the Undo send dropdown.

  1. Open the dropdown and choose a delay:
    • No sending delay – Undo send is off; messages are sent immediately.
    • 5 seconds – a short window to catch mistakes.
    • 10 seconds – the most time to react.
  2. Click Ok to save and close the window.

Because Undo send is part of each account’s Properties, if you have more than one email account listed in your folder list, check the setting on each one you send from.

How to undo a sent message

  1. Write your message as usual and click Send.

  1. The compose window closes and a small black notice appears at the bottom-left of the screen: “Message queued. Sending in 10s.” (or 5s, depending on your setting), with an Undo link. The notice stays on screen for as long as the delay you chose.
  2. Click Undo before the notice disappears.

  1. The compose window opens again with the recipient, subject and message text just as you left them. Fix what you need and click Send again, or close the window to discard the message (Thexyz Webmail asks you to confirm before it closes a message with unsent content).

Tips

  • Choose 10 seconds if you can. Five seconds goes quickly when you’re reading back the message in your head. The extra few seconds rarely matter for delivery, but they make Undo much easier to hit.
  • Keep the tab open during the countdown. To be safe, don’t close the browser tab or sign out until the “Message queued” notice has gone. If you close it mid-countdown you may lose the chance to click Undo.
  • Watch the bottom-left corner. The notice is small and easy to miss. Get in the habit of glancing there after every Send.
  • Undo isn’t a recall. Once the countdown ends the message is sent. If you need more time to think, save it as a draft instead of relying on Undo.

Frequently asked questions

Where is Undo Send in Thexyz Webmail?
In the email account’s Properties: in the E-mail module, right-click your email address at the top of the folder list, choose Properties, and use the Undo send dropdown. It isn’t under My account or User Settings.

Can I make the delay longer than 10 seconds?
No. The options are No sending delay, 5 seconds and 10 seconds.

How do I turn Undo Send off?
Set the Undo send dropdown to No sending delay and click Ok. Messages are then sent the moment you click Send, with no Undo option.

No. When the countdown ends the message is delivered, and Thexyz Webmail can’t take it back from the recipient.

Does Undo Send work in Outlook, Apple Mail or my phone’s mail app?
This setting is part of Thexyz Webmail in your browser. Messages sent from other mail apps follow that app’s own behaviour.
