How to Compose and Send an Email in OX App Suite

How to compose and send an email in OX App Suite

Writing a new message is the first thing most people do in OX App Suite, and the compose window packs a lot into a small space: recipients, CC and BCC, formatting, attachments and an autosave indicator. This guide walks through each part of the window in order, from clicking New email to clicking Send, using the labels you’ll see on screen.

Quick answer

In OX App Suite Mail, click New email at the top-left. Type a name or address in To, click CC or BCC if you need them, add a Subject and write your message. Use the toolbar for formatting (for example B for bold) and the paperclip to attach a file, then click Send.

Step 1: Open a new email

  1. Sign in to OX App Suite and open Mail (the envelope icon in the top bar).
  2. Click New email at the top of the folder list. A compose window opens on the right-hand side of the screen.

The small arrow next to New email opens a menu of other things you can create. For a normal message, just click the main part of the button.

Step 2: Add recipients, a subject and your message

  1. Click in the To field and start typing a name or email address. OX App Suite suggests matching contacts; pick one or finish typing the address and press Enter. Each recipient appears as a chip with an × to remove it.
  2. To copy someone in, click CC (or BCC for a hidden copy) at the top-right of the window. Extra CC and BCC lines appear under To.
  3. Click Subject and type a short, clear subject line.
  4. Click in the message area and write your email. To format text, select it and use the toolbar at the bottom of the window. For example, click B to make it bold.

The toolbar also has italic, underline, text and highlight colour, bulleted and numbered lists, indent, font size, clear formatting, insert link and insert image. The Saved … ago note at the bottom-right shows your draft is being saved automatically.

Step 3: Attach a file and send

  1. Click the paperclip icon in the bar at the bottom of the window. Under Attachments, choose Add local file to upload from your computer, or Add from Drive to attach a file you’ve already stored in OX Drive.
  2. Check the recipients, subject and attachments one last time.
  3. Click Send.

  1. A small Sending… notice appears with your subject line and an Undo button. If you spot a mistake, click Undo straight away to get back to the draft.

The notice only stays on screen for a few seconds. How long you get depends on your Compose & Reply settings (Settings → Mail), where undo send is configured.

Tips and troubleshooting

  • The CC or BCC line is missing. They’re hidden until you click CC or BCC at the top-right of the compose window.
  • Lost a half-written message? Look in Drafts. OX App Suite saves the draft while you type, as shown by the Saved … ago note.
  • The window is too small. Use the expand icon at the top-right of the compose window for a bigger editor, or the minimise icon to tuck it away while you check another email.
  • Large attachment won’t upload. Your provider sets a size limit. Try Add from Drive, or share a Drive link instead.
  • Send is greyed out or nothing happens. Make sure there’s at least one valid address in To, CC or BCC. If your provider shows an error after sending, contact them, as delivery is handled by the mail server, not the compose window.

Frequently asked questions

How do I add a BCC recipient in OX App Suite?
Open a new email and click BCC at the top-right of the compose window. A BCC line appears under To; anyone you add there gets the message without the other recipients seeing their address.

Does OX App Suite save drafts automatically?
Yes. While you write, the bottom-right of the compose window shows Saved … ago, and the message is kept in your Drafts folder until you send or delete it.

Can I attach a file from OX Drive instead of my computer?
Yes. Click the paperclip icon and choose Add from Drive to pick a file stored in your OX Drive. Add local file uploads from your computer.
